Each large candle comes complete with an exclusive ‘from the ashes’ seed kit, so you can recycle your jar by transforming it into a home for a new baby plant to grow.

Our ‘from the ashes’ seed kits give you everything you need to grow your new plant. Our instant soil pellets come dry and mess free. All you have to do is just add water to expand.
it’s time to grow
Step 1: burn and enjoy up to 50 hours of blissful scent.
It's never easy to say goodbye, however it's time to stop burning your candle when there is around 1 - 1.5cm of wax left on the bottom of the jar, otherwise it may get too hot and become a fire hazard.
Step 2: remove excess wax from jar
Soy wax is biodegradable, so simply wash out with hot soapy water, wipe out the remaining wax and repurpose your beautiful amber glassware. Or place in the freezer for 20 minutes, the wax will pop out. Please dispose of wax in the bin, not down the drain. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!
Step 3: expand soil pellets.
Now is the time to get the soil pellets ready to go. Remove the protective netting on each pellet by carefully pinching the edges and unravelling the thin and transparent outer layer. Pop the pellets into the jar and fill up 3/4 of the jar with warm water. Let it sit for a few minutes as the soil expands, then stir and even out. Add more water as required so that the soil is moist but not soaked. That’s it, it is that simple.
Step 4: plant the seeds.
Open your ‘from the ashes’ seed packet and press the seeds into the surface of the soil, spreading evenly apart. Be sure to refer to the sowing instructions on the back of the packet for a guide on how deep to sow the seeds, as this may vary. You don't need to use up the whole packet. Spread them out evenly to give each seed some space to grow. If it looks like you planted too many, take out the weakest growers and just keep the strongest 2 or 3 seedlings.
Step 5: water and grow.
Follow the care instructions on your ‘from the ashes’ kit. Pop it on your windowsill or in a sunny spot and watch as your new life sprouts. Make sure to water as per your seed instructions, being careful not to over or under water. Harvest herbs regularly or for flowers, transplant to a bigger pot once the seedlings outgrow the jar; then start fresh with a new plant and continue your re-purpose, re-use, re-cycle journey.
